Training Fellowships
Trauma Institute/Child Trauma Institute (TI/CTI) is offering work-study fellowships to support the development and proliferation of experts in trauma-informed psychotherapy.
TI/CTI anticipates considerable growth in the coming years, and we are hopeful that one or more of the Fellows will ultimately join our faculty. However, Fellow applicants are not required to have this goal. We are also interested in people who plan to teach trauma-informed therapy in academic and other settings, those who plan to provide supervision/consultation, as well as those who simply want to become better therapists. Each helps to further our mission.
Certificate Program Fellowship
This Fellowship offers a full tuition waiver for the Certificate Program. Fellows commit to:
- Participating fully in the training program.
- Providing, on mutually-agreeable dates, a 4 day intensive therapy retreat, client(s) to be provided by TI/CTI.
To qualify for the Fellowship, applicants must
- be a mental health professional at the Master's level or higher, licensed (or on a licensure track) for independent practice. If you're not sure if your profession or practice credential qualifies, ask.
- have an active therapy caseload.
- have the capacity to provide a multi-day therapy retreat (you'd need a therapy office as well as malpractice insurance); if this would be under the auspices of your agency, then the agency's approval must be documented.
To apply, e-mail Dr. Greenwald the following:
- your CV
- a brief (2 pg max) cover letter describing (a) your qualifications (as per above), (b) your prior trauma training and if/how you have used it, and (c) your reasons for wanting to do this training/fellowship, including what you hope/plan to do with what you learn.
- Two recommendation letters from people who can speak to your qualities relevant to the plans noted in your cover letter.
Decisions will be made as applications come in, on a first-come basis. Telephone interviews may be requested at the discretion of TI/CTI. Applications will be judged according to overall quality, to which many factors may contribute.
Trauma Trainers Retreat Fellowship
Only completers of the Certificate Program (whether via Fellowship or otherwise) are eligible to apply for the Retreat Fellowship.
This Fellowship offers a full tuition waiver (including lodging/meals) for the Trauma Trainer's Retreat. Fellows commit to:
- Participating fully in the training program.
- Providing, on mutually-agreeable dates, a 4 day intensive therapy retreat, client(s) to be provided by TI/CTI.
To qualify for the Fellowship, applicants must
- have completed the Certificate Program.
- have the capacity to provide a multi-day therapy retreat (you'd need a therapy office as well as malpractice insurance); if this would be under the auspices of your agency, then the agency's approval must be documented.
Application information will be posted later in 2012.
